All example images used in the class will be provided. You can also bring a few of your own images to work with during the class as there may be time for you to work on images to practice the techniques covered.

* Participants are required to bring their own laptop computer that has a version of Photoshop on it. The class will be taught using Photoshop CS4 and CS3 so those versions are preferred. Photoshop CS2 may also be used but there may be features and techniques shown that are unavailable in CS2.

Who Should Take This Class
This class is for photographers who are new to Photoshop and who want to learn the basic but essential techniques for using the program to improve their images. Familiarity with basic computer skills is required.

The second class in the series, Photoshop for Photographers: Beyond the Basics
will be offered on February 7 & 8, 2009.

Seán Duggan is a photographer, author and educator with extensive digital imaging experience that is grounded in a traditional fine art photographic background. He is the co-author of The Creative Digital Darkroom (O’Reilly Media, 2007), Photoshop Artistry (New Riders 2006) and Real World Digital Photography (Peachpit Press 2004). An Adobe Certified Photoshop expert, his Photoshop for Photographers tutorial column can be seen regularly in Layers magazine. In addition to teaching online Photoshop for Photographers classes at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University he also provides consulting services, one-on-one training and leads workshops at venues across the country.
